Absolut Peach Vodka

Distillery Background and History

Absolut Vodka is distilled in Åhus, Sweden, and is recognized as one of the leading premium vodka brands globally.  Founded in 1879 by Lars Olsson Smith, the brand became internationally known under the “Absolut” name beginning in 1979.  The “Apeach / Peach” variant was introduced in 2005 as a flavored addition to the Absolut line to expand its appeal with fruit-infused styles. 

Master Distiller and Production Philosophy

Absolut emphasizes a philosophy of purity and distillation clarity: the base vodka is distilled from winter wheat and purified to remove impurities while preserving character. For the Apeach version, the brand’s approach is to naturally infuse peach flavor into the high-quality base without added sugar or coloring so that the fruit flavor layers over clean vodka. 

Source of Ingredients (Grain, Water, Yeast)

The base vodka uses winter wheat grown in southern Sweden.  The water source is local to Åhus, filtered and pure. Yeast strains are proprietary to Absolut, used for the fermentation of the wheat mash before distillation.

Distillation Process

Absolut’s vodka is distilled from a grain mash in continuous distillation systems (column stills) to achieve high purity. The process is designed to retain character while removing congeners. The flavored variant (Apeach) is produced by blending natural peach flavoring with the distilled vodka rather than altering the distillation itself. 

Maturation & Cask Information

Vodka is not matured in casks. Apeach is a flavored vodka, and its fruit notes come from infusion or blending rather than barrel aging.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Juicy peach, subtle stone fruit, mild floral and fresh fruit tones. 

Palate: Soft and smooth, ripe peach character, gentle fruit sweetness, light vodka backbone. 

Finish: Clean, fruity lingering peach, minimal harshness. 

Food Pairing Suggestions

Pairs well with light, fruity desserts (peach cobbler, tarts), fruit salads, white chocolate, or dishes with soft acidity and sweetness like grilled peaches or prosciutto and melon. Also good for mixing into peachy cocktails or brunch punches.

Serving Suggestions and Ideal Glassware

Serve chilled. Use a vodka tumbler or narrow tasting glass. It is also ideal in cocktails: try neat over ice or in a Peach Martini, Apeach Soda, or cocktail with iced tea and peach. Absolut suggests mixing with iced tea (“Absolut Apeach with Iced Tea”) or in a Peach Bellini (vodka + prosecco). 

Storage and Aging Potential

Once bottled, vodka (including flavored variants) is stable. Store upright in a cool, dark place. It does not benefit from further aging.
