Winery Background and History

Founded in 1996 by Moët & Hennessy in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Terrazas de los Andes specializes in mountain-grown wines across multiple high-altitude terraces. The Parcel series represents their most treasured vineyard blocks, emphasizing single-site typicity and elegance  .

Producer & Wine Maker

Crafted under the oversight of estate winemakers, the Parcel Los Cerezos is sourced from vines planted in 1929. A combination of traditional craftsmanship and precision viticulture guides its expressive and site-driven character  .

Vineyards and Micro Climate

Sourced from the highest part of the Los Cerezos vineyard in Las Compuertas, Luján de Cuyo, at approximately 1,070 m elevation. Rocky, clay soils and cool mountain diurnal shifts yield intensely flavored, balanced fruit  .

Vinification & Aging Methods

The wine is traditionally fermented, then aged for roughly 12 months (likely in all-French oak), reflecting the estate’s restrained and terroir-focused style ().

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby with violet hues. Aromas of cassis, violets, blackberry, thyme, rosemary, and plum. Supple, velvety texture with integrated oak spices. Balanced, fresh finish with fine tannins and a refined mouthfeel  .

Food & Wine Pairing

Ideal with grilled lamb, venison, beef, chivo, or game dishes, plus aged cheeses like Gruyère or blue, and roasted vegetables—complementing the wine’s savory spice and dense fruit  .

Service Methods and Temperatures

Best served at 16–18 °C in a large Bordeaux-style glass. Decanting for 1–2 hours allows the complex aromas to emerge.

Storage and Aging Potential

Peak drinking window: 2021–2035 (15-year potential). Store at 12–14 °C with moderate humidity to preserve structure and freshness ().

Grape Varietals & Percentage Used

100% Malbec sourced from the single Los Cerezos parcel  .
