Winery Background and History

Château Minuty, located in Gassin on the Saint-Tropez peninsula, has been a Cru Classé estate since 1955. The Matton–Farnet family revitalized the estate in 1936. In 2023, LVMH acquired a majority stake, currently producing some of Provence’s most sought-after rosés while maintaining its heritage and maritime character  .

Producer and Wine Maker

Managed by Jean‑Étienne and François Matton (joined by Anne‑Victoire in 2022), the winemaking team emphasizes sustainable, low-intervention practices. 281 comes from a selection of three soil types, with precise blending and delicate handling to balance structure and finesse  .

Vineyards and Micro Climate

Grown on schist, clay, and sandy terraces overlooking the Mediterranean, vines are sustainably farmed. The maritime-influenced microclimate—cool coastal breezes and high diurnal shifts—produces fruit with saline complexity and aromatic purity  .

Vinification & Aging Methods

Hand-harvested old-vine Grenache (90 %) and Syrah (10 %) are direct-pressed for free-run juice, fermented at low temperature, and aged four months in stainless steel. No oak involved to preserve freshness  .

Tasting Notes

Pale salmon hue with crystalline clarity. Aromatics include wild strawberry, raspberry, white peach, pear, and citrus blossom. Palate shows red fruit intensity, saline minerality, subtle iodine, honeyed notes, and silky, long finish  .

Food & Wine Pairing

Ideal with seafood (scallops, grilled fish, sushi), summer salads, Asian-inspired light dishes, and delicate shellfish. It’s also superb as a standalone aperitif  .

Service Methods and Temperatures

Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C in a tulip or medium white glass to preserve aromatics and mineral tension. No decanting required ().

Storage and Aging Potential

Bright and fresh now, best within 2022–2027. In optimal cellar conditions, it may retain freshness to 2028, with delicate evolution of tertiary notes  .
