Winery Background and History

Founded in 1978 by the Mariani family, Castello Banfi is a renowned winery located in Montalcino, Tuscany. The estate is celebrated for its commitment to combining traditional winemaking techniques with modern innovation, producing wines that reflect the rich heritage of the region.

Producer and Winemaker

The Rosa Regale 2022 is produced under the guidance of Castello Banfi’s experienced winemaking team, who focus on creating approachable yet expressive wines that showcase the character of Piedmont’s terroir.

Vineyards and Micro Climate

The grapes for Rosa Regale are sourced from the La Rosa Vineyard in Acqui Terme, Piedmont. The region’s favorable climate, with warm days and cool nights, along with calcareous-clayey soils, contribute to the wine’s aromatic complexity and balance.

Vinification & Aging Methods

The wine undergoes fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks using the Charmat Method. This process preserves the fresh fruit characteristics and results in a lively and persistent perlage.

Tasting Notes

Rosa Regale 2022 presents a light ruby red color with a lively and persistent perlage. The nose offers intense aromas of Bulgarian rose and berries. On the palate, it is sweet and aromatic, with a balanced acidity that leads to a refreshing finish.

Food & Wine Pairing

This wine pairs well with fresh strawberries, fruit salads, fruit pies, and small pastries. Its sweetness and acidity also make it a delightful companion to chocolate desserts.

Service Methods and Temperatures

  • Serving Temperature: 8–10°C (46–50°F)

  • Decanting: Not necessary; serve chilled to enjoy its freshness.

Storage and Aging Potential

While enjoyable now, Rosa Regale 2022 can be cellared for an additional 1–2 years to maintain its freshness. Proper storage in a cool, dark place with a consistent temperature will help preserve its quality.
