Distillery Background and History
Malfy is distilled by Torino Distillati, a family-owned distillery in Moncalieri (Turin region), Italy. The brand was launched around 2016 with an aim to bring Italian citrus character into gin. The Vergnano family has a long tradition in distillation and created Malfy to highlight local citrus and Mediterranean style. Malfy Gin Con Arancia is their blood orange variant, blending Sicilian blood oranges with classic botanicals.
Master Distiller and Production Philosophy
Malfy’s production team focuses on balance: letting citrus aromas and flavor shine while retaining juniper and botanical character. For Con Arancia, the philosophy is to integrate real Italian orange and Sicilian blood orange peel into the botanical mix so that the citrus becomes expressive, not merely additive.
Source of Ingredients (Grain, Water, Yeast)
The base spirit is a neutral grain distillate (grain base typical for gin). Botanicals include handpicked juniper, Italian oranges, and Sicilian blood oranges. Water used is local Italian blending water. Yeast strain details are proprietary and not publicly disclosed.
Distillation Process
Malfy employs vacuum (low-pressure) distillation to protect delicate citrus aromatics. The orange and blood orange peels are added to the botanical recipe and distilled along with the usual botanicals.
Maturation & Cask Information
This gin is not barrel aged. It is bottled soon after distillation and blending, with no cask influence.
