Winery Background and History
Tenuta Perano, nestled in Gaiole in Chianti, was lovingly acquired by the Frescobaldi family in 2014. The estate’s vineyards are perched at ~500 m above sea level and benefit from a natural amphitheater layout with south–southwest exposure. These unique terroir characteristics maximize sunlight, amplify heat retention, and yield wines with elegant structure and freshness. The Chianti Classico reflects both regional heritage and the Frescobaldi legacy of quality.
Producer and Wine Maker
Produced by Frescobaldi’s expert winemaking team—known for combining traditional craft with contemporary precision—this wine undergoes controlled vinification and thoughtful aging to highlight both the varietal purity of Sangiovese and the site’s distinctiveness.
Vineyards and Micro Climate
Situated at 500 m in Gaiole in Chianti, the vineyards’ ideal southwest exposure within a sun-trapping amphitheater and clay-limestone soils deliver intensity and vibrant fruit while preserving acidity and aromatic complexity.
Vinification & Aging Methods
Grapes undergo hand-harvest, gentle destemming, and fermentation in stainless steel with careful pumping-over to ensure balanced extraction. Post-fermentation, the wine is aged for approximately 12 months in barriques and stainless steel before bottling.
Tasting Notes
The wine exhibits a beautiful clear ruby-red color. Aromas of berries—including raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry—are accented by sour cherry, delicate floral notes, clove, black pepper, and a seamless tannin finish. The palate showcases balance, freshness, and velvety tannic structure.
Food & Wine Pairing
Pair this Chianti Classico with meat ragù, roasted or grilled red meats, game, and aged cheeses. The wine’s savory backbone and freshness harmonize beautifully with hearty Tuscan fare.

Serve at 16–18 °C. A gentle decant of about 1 hour enhances aromatic expression and softens structure.
