Winery Background and History
Château Minuty, a Cru Classé estate since 1955 on the Saint‑Tropez peninsula, has been family‑owned (Farnet–Matton) since 1936. Surrounded by schist, clay, and sandy soils overlooking the Mediterranean, it stands as one of Provence’s most iconic rosé houses. In 2023, LVMH acquired a majority stake, reinforcing its legacy while maintaining the estate’s commitment to terroir-led rosé excellence .
Producer and Wine Maker
Under Jean‑Étienne, François, and Anne‑Victoire Matton, the M de Minuty is crafted from hand‑harvested grapes. After careful destemming and cooling, the juice is fermented cold in stainless steel, with no malolactic fermentation to preserve purity. Winemakers blend Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Tibouren to express Provence’s diversity .
Vineyards and Micro Climate
Grapes are sourced from multiple terroirs across Côtes‑de‑Provence—from coastal zones to hinterland terroirs like Sainte‑Victoire—characterized by Mediterranean breezes, plenty of sunshine, and cool nights, enabling vibrant acidity and aromatic finesse .
Vinification & Aging Methods
Destemmed fruit undergoes immediate pressing and low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel. The wine sees winter racking and blending, with approximate 12–18 months potential aging on fine lees before bottling to preserve freshness and texture .
Tasting Notes
Pale pink with a bright, crystalline hue. Aromas of juicy strawberry, red currant, blood orange, white peach, and a hint of tropical florals. The palate is lively and round, with crunchy red fruit and citrus, lifted by a saline mineral backbone and a clean, precise finish .
Food & Wine Pairing
A perfect aperitif when served with olives, tapas, and vegetable crisps. It also complements seafood—especially prawns, ceviche, and shellfish—as well as summer salads like Niçoise and Mediterranean-style appetizers .
Service Methods and Temperatures
Serve chilled at 10–12 °C in a tulip or medium white wine glass to concentrate aromas and maintain freshness. No need to decant; allow a few minutes of breathing after opening for best aromatics.
Storage and Aging Potential
Best enjoyed between 2023–2026, though it may hold freshness through 2027 in cool, upright conditions (10–12 °C). Beyond this, its vibrant fruit will gradually fade .
