Casanova Brunello di Montalcino 2015
Casanova Brunello di Montalcino 2015
Country: Italy
Region: Tuscany
Volume: 750ml
Winery Background and History:
Casanova di Neri was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri in Montalcino. Covering approximately 50 ha, the estate combines traditional philosophies with modern research and clonal selection. Their White Label represents an elegant, approachable Brunello, first released in 1978, showcasing consistent quality and finesse—even outside the Tenuta Nuova vineyard
Producer and Wine Maker:
Under Giacomo Neri, the 2015 White Label underwent 25-day spontaneous fermentation in conical stainless-steel vats, followed by 43 months of aging in oak barrels and six months in bottle. Giovanni Neri oversees precision in grape selection, aiming for freshness and varietal purity
Vineyards and Micro Climate:
Grapes come from estate vineyards in the eastern/northeastern slopes of Montalcino at elevations between 275–320 m, planted on clay-limestone with gravelly stones. The 2015 vintage saw a mild winter, ample spring rainfall, and summer warmth with cool nights, ideal for acidity retention and phenolic ripeness
Vinification & Aging Methods:
Grapes were hand-harvested and destemmed, then spontaneously fermented over 25 days in stainless-steel vats with frequent punch-downs. The wine was aged 43 months in oak barrels and further mellowed with six months in bottle before release
Tasting Notes:
Bright red and intense on the nose with fresh dark fruit, exotic white fruit, and spice tones. On the palate it is full-bodied with depth and perfectly ripe tannins, delivering excellent balance and length
Food & Wine Pairing:
Ideal with beef and venison stews, roasted meats, rich pasta dishes, and aged Tuscan cheeses. The wine’s structure and acidity harmonize with savory, hearty cuisine
Service Methods and Temperatures:
Serve at 16–17 °C in a large Bordeaux glass. Gentle decanting may enhance aromatics and softness

Cellar at 12–14 °C with moderate humidity. Best drinking window spans 2020–2035
