Country: Italy
Region: Veneto
Volume: 750ml
Winery Background and History
Allegrini is a prestigious family estate in the Valpolicella Classica area of Veneto, deeply rooted in winemaking traditions since the 16th century. The Valpolicella Classico DOC represents its entry-level red—crafted to be a refined introduction to the estate’s identity and the region’s style. It reflects both Allegrini’s heritage and their commitment to accessible everyday drinking.
Producer and Wine Maker
Led today by Franco Allegrini alongside a new generation, the team emphasizes precision in vineyard management—especially through the use of climatic monitoring and sustainable practices—and clean, expressive winemaking in stainless steel, reinforcing their philosophy of terroir-driven freshness and clarity.
Vineyards and Micro-Climate
Vines are grown in the Valpolicella Classica hills near Cariano, Fumane, and Sant’Ambrogio, typically around 200 m altitude with southeast exposure. Soils are mixed clay and limestone. The mild continental climate, tempered by mountain breezes, gives the wine its aromatic profile and balanced structure.
Vinification & Aging Methods
Grapes are hand-harvested in mid-to-late September, then soft-pressed and fermented in stainless steel at 25–31 °C for about 9 days. Aging continues in steel until February, followed by 2 months of bottle aging before release.
Tasting notes
Ruby red with purplish hues, it opens with fragrant cherry, strawberry, and a hint of violet, alongside aromatic herbs. The palate is fresh, harmonious, with lively acidity and gentle tannins that support a clean, flavorful finish.
Food & Wine Pairing
Highly versatile, enjoy it with pasta dishes like alla Norma, grilled meats, roasted or white meats, aged cheeses, and even seafood stews like guazzetto or cacciucco.
Service Methods and Temperatures
Serve chilled at 14–16 °C in a medium-stemmed red wine glass. A short decant (about 1 hour) accentuates its aromas and vivacity.

Best enjoyed within 5–10 years, offering approachable character now with the potential to develop modest complexity over time.
