Country: Italy
Region: Lombardy
Volume: 750ml
Winery Background and History
The Allegrini estate, with roots in Veneto’s Valpolicella since the 16th century, has long been renowned for its red wines. In recent years, they ventured into Lugana—producing Oasi Mantellina to express the delicate yet sophisticated potential of Turbiana grown near Lake Garda. It represents a fresh chapter in their commitment to regional diversity and innovation.
Producer and Winemaker
Now guided by Franco Allegrini and his children, the estate has applied its signature precision to white varieties as well—focusing on sustainable viticulture and modern winemaking to highlight freshness, aromatic clarity, and terroir-driven elegance.
Vineyards and Micro Climate
The Oasi Mantellina vineyard spans 40 hectares near Pozzolengo on Lake Garda’s shores. Planted since 2017 on clayey and gravelly soils at 100 m altitude, with southwest exposure, it benefits from gentle breezes, delicate microflora, and a rich biodiversity reserve—all supporting vibrant Turbiana expression.
Vinification & Aging Methods
Manual harvest occurs in September. Grapes undergo soft pressing and ferment at 14–15 °C in stainless steel. The wine rests on its lees for 4 months before bottling, followed by an additional 2 months of rest prior to release.
Tasting Notes
Fragrant notes of white peach, jasmine, bergamot, and a touch of almond greet the nose. The palate is rich and textured, revealing citrus freshness, a graceful salinity, and a refined mineral backbone, all framed by elegant persistence.
Food & Wine Pairing
Its versatility shines with fresh seafood like sushi or grilled fish, Mediterranean dishes such as clams pasta, couscous, and vegetable-based recipes. Excellent with poultry or lighter cheeses.
Service Methods and Temperatures
Serve chilled at 10–12 °C in a medium-stemmed white wine glass to highlight its aromatics and freshness.
Storage and Aging Potential
While vibrant and approachable now, it offers a respectable aging window—best enjoyed from 2024 through 2028 for evolving complexity.
Grape Varietals & Percentage Used
96% Turbiana, 4% Cortese — a blend that enhances aromatic depth and structure.
