Winery Background and History

Allegrini, a distinguished family estate in Veneto, has long been a jewel of Valpolicella. The Fieramonte is one of its most revered expressions—an iconic single-vineyard Riserva that narrates a story of terroir and tradition from a prime hillside plot togin two consecutive 100-point scores from Decanter for both 2015 and 2016 vintages  .

Producer and Winemaker

Managed today by the Allegrini family, the winery champions precision viticulture and thoughtful winemaking. Fieramonte is crafted through rigorous grape selection, careful drying (appassimento), and long oak maturation, resulting in a richly structured and expressive Amarone.

Vineyards and Micro Climate

The vineyard sits at ~415 m altitude in Mazzurega, Fumane, with southeast exposure and gravelly, magnesium- and iron-rich soils. These limestone-infused slopes deliver optimal drainage, minerality, and balanced ripening  .

Vinification & Aging Methods

Harvested and selected by hand, the grapes are dried until they lose 40–45% weight. Fermentation follows gentle pressing. The wine then ages 48 months in French oak barriques, blended for another six months in large Slavonian oak casks, and completes with about one year of bottle aging  .

Tasting Notes

Deep, intense ruby-red in color. Aromas of coffee, tobacco, blackberry, dried plums, cinnamon, and exotic spices dominate. The palate is powerful yet refined, combining potent tannins, vibrant acidity, and chalky minerality with layers of dark fruit and spice  .

Food & Wine Pairing

Pairs exceptionally well with robust flavors—think aged cheeses, rich game dishes, and hearty grilled meats. Its structure and flavor depth match dishes with texture and complexity.

Service Methods and Temperatures

Best served at 18–20 °C in a large Burgundy or Bordeaux glass. Decanting for at least 1 hour is recommended to fully unfurl its aromas and flavors  .

Storage and Aging Potential

Built for long-term cellaring; can gracefully evolve well into 2047 and beyond—revealing complexity over decades  .

Grape Varietals & percentage used

A blend of 45% Corvina Veronese, 45% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella, and 5% Oseleta  .

ABV (Alcohol by Volume)

16.5%—characteristic of the concentrated, dried-fruit style of Amarone  .
